Pokhara

Pokhara, located at the base of the Annapurnas, is the second most populous city in Nepal. Phewa lake is one of the main sites nearby to the city centre, which plays host to many of the country’s trekkers who are about to embark on, or have just completed, a trek in the Annapurnas. Pokhara is almost tropical in climate, and is full of banana trees and lush vegetation. As with everywhere else in Nepal, it has several important temples, a cave, and the Shanti Stupa, at the top of a forested hill.
