The Annapurnas
The Annapurnas. A stunning snow-capped region of the Himalayas a few day’s trek from the lakeside town of Pokhara, these incredible peaks are dominated by Machapuchare, Nepali for ‘fishtail’ mountain. It is called this due to the shape of its peak, which looks a bit like the tail of a fish. This mountain is sacred to Lord Shiva, and is off-limits for trekking. It is one of the most spectacular sights of the Himalayas.
