With central Kathmandu and Patan, Bhaktapur makes up the third of the old kingdoms of the Kathmandu Valley. It plays host to some of the largest pagoda-style temples in the valley, and also has a spectacular Durbar Square. Traditional arts such as pottery are still practiced in this vibrant city, whose winding streets, paved with red bricks, buzz with trade and activity.
